Dr Objoon Trachoo
Assoc. Prof. Objoon Trachoo, MD, PhD, FIBMS is a Clinical Geneticist and Director of the Genomic Medicine Center at Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand. He specializes in the diagnosis and management of inherited disorders and provides comprehensive care for patients and families affected by genetic conditions across all stages of life.
Dr. Objoon is dedicated to applying precision medicine to achieve accurate diagnoses, guide personalized treatment decisions, and improve long-term health outcomes. His clinical expertise covers a broad range of genetic conditions, including hereditary blood disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, neurogenetic diseases, inherited cardiac conditions, sensory organ disorders, hereditary cancer syndromes, and rare and undiagnosed diseases.
He also has extensive expertise in reproductive and fetal genetics, including preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), prenatal genetic diagnosis (PND), interpretation of abnormal non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) results, and management of pregnancies affected by genetic and chromosomal disorders.
Dr. Objoon graduated with First-Class Honors from Mahidol University, Thailand, completed residency training in Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, and earned a PhD from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine in Thailand and holds the European Diploma in Medical Genetics and Genomics. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Science (UK).
With more than 16 years of experience in clinical practice, academic medicine, and biomedical research, Dr. Objoon has held leadership and academic positions at leading institutions in Thailand and Vietnam. He is internationally recognized in the field of clinical genetics and serves on the editorial boards of several international peer-reviewed journals.
As Clinical Genetics Lead, Dr. Objoon is committed to integrating genomic medicine into routine healthcare to ensure that patients receive the right diagnosis, the right treatment, and the right care at the right time.
Qualification:
- European Diploma in Medical Genetics and Genomics, European Union of Medical Specialist (UEMS)
- Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Science (FIBMS), United Kingdom
- PhD Biomedical Science, University of Sheffield, United Kingdom
- Diploma of the Thai Board of Internal Medicine, Medical Council of Thailand
- Doctor of Medicine (MD with 1st class honor), Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand
